The TSA this year consisted of written assessments of Chinese Language, English Language and Mathematics, oral assessments of Chinese Language and English Language and Chinese audio-visual assessments of Chinese Language for P.3, P.6 and S.3. Students from a total of 504 primary schools and 445 secondary schools participated in the assessment.
Among P. 3 students participated in the assessment, 85.8% , 79.8% and 87.7% of them can meet the Basic Competency (BC) standard in Chinese Language, English Language and Mathematics respectively.
Among P. 6 students participated in the assessment, 77.9%, 72.8% and 84.2% of them can meet the BC standard in Chinese Language, English Language and Mathematics respectively.
Among S. 3 students participated in the assessment, 76.4%, 69.5% and 79.6% of of them can meet the BC standard in Chinese Language, English Language and Mathematics respectively.
In general, students of all levels perform better in Mathematics, but have to work harder on English Language. In all papers, most students can manage the basic skills, but still have great room for improvement in various areas.
